About Legacy Armory
Legacy Armory is a home-based Federal Firearms License (FFL) business focused exclusively on firearm transfers and compliance-related services. We do not operate as a retail storefront, do not maintain on-hand inventory, and do not offer walk-in browsing or in-person firearm sales. All transfers and services are provided by appointment only and must be scheduled in advance; unscheduled visits cannot be accommodated. This structure allows us to maintain secure operations, meet all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, and provide efficient, professional service to our customers.

Legacy armory policies
Legacy Armory charges a transfer fee of $40 per firearm, which includes lawful receipt, secure handling, ATF-required acquisition and disposition recordkeeping, completion of ATF Form 4473, and NICS background check processing. When multiple firearms are transferred in the same transaction, the fee is $30 per firearm. All transfer fees are due at the time of pickup and are non-refundable regardless of background check outcome, delay, or denial.
Customers must notify Legacy Armory prior to having any firearm shipped to our premises. Advance notification is required to ensure lawful intake, accurate recordkeeping, proper storage, and compliance with federal and state regulations. Firearms shipped without prior notification may be refused or returned at the sender’s or customer’s expense.
If a firearm is shipped to Legacy Armory without prior notification and Legacy Armory receives, signs for, or logs the firearm into its records, a $50 transfer fee per firearm will apply. This fee reflects the additional administrative time, compliance burden, and legal liability associated with identifying and verifying the intended transferee. This fee replaces standard transfer pricing and applies regardless of quantity.
Firearms must be picked up within 30 calendar days of receipt by Legacy Armory unless otherwise agreed to in writing. If a firearm remains in our possession beyond 30 days for reasons not caused by Legacy Armory, including customer delay, failure to complete paperwork, unresolved NICS status, failure to provide valid identification, or legal restrictions applicable to the customer, a storage fee of $10 per week per firearm will be assessed beginning on day 31. All storage fees must be paid in full prior to release of the firearm.
Firearms left in storage for an extended period may, at the discretion of Legacy Armory and in accordance with federal and Michigan law, be considered abandoned property. Legacy Armory reserves the right to continue assessing storage fees, refuse future services, and lawfully transfer, return, or dispose of abandoned firearms, with any proceeds applied toward outstanding balances. Legacy Armory is not responsible for loss of value resulting from abandonment or lawful disposition.
All firearm transfers are subject to completion of ATF Form 4473 and a NICS background check, or other process permitted under federal and Michigan law. Handgun transfers may require additional steps or documentation under Michigan law, including but not limited to license or permit requirements, exemptions for CPL holders, and mandatory record submission. Firearms will not be released until all federal and Michigan legal requirements are fully satisfied. Transfer fees apply regardless of approval, delay, or denial, and storage fees may apply if delays extend beyond the 30-day pickup period.
It is the customer’s sole responsibility to ensure they are legally eligible to purchase, possess, and receive firearms under all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Legacy Armory does not provide legal advice regarding firearm ownership or eligibility and assumes no responsibility for a customer’s legal status.
Legacy Armory reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service at any time if these policies are violated, required information is not provided, a transfer appears unlawful or non-compliant, or if customer conduct is abusive, deceptive, or unsafe.
By using Legacy Armory’s services, customers acknowledge that the receipt and storage of firearms impose significant regulatory and security obligations and that unannounced or delayed transfers increase compliance risk. Fees assessed under these policies are reasonable, necessary, and non-punitive. Legacy Armory is not responsible for shipping errors, carrier delays, manufacturer defects, or delays caused by third parties or government agencies.
All firearms must be shipped by lawful sellers with proper identification and documentation and in compliance with federal law and carrier requirements. Firearms shipped improperly or without required documentation may be refused or returned at the sender’s or customer’s expense. We highly recommend purchasing insurance on all firearms shipped.
